Section 26.26.555. Child as party—Representation.

- (1) Unless specifically required under other provisions of this chapter, a minor child is a permissible party, but is not a necessary party to a proceeding under RCW 26.26.500 through 26.26.630.(2) If a minor or incapacitated child is a party, or if the court finds that the interests of the child are not adequately represented, the court shall appoint a guardian ad litem to represent the child, subject to RCW 74.20.310.
